Match Week 2

April 5 - 11

GK - Gianna Johnson

Gianna Johnson, goalkeeper for Waterford, earned her spot in our Best X11 this week after keeping 2 shutouts and allowing only 1 goal in 3 matches. Both games in the UW-Whitewater invitational against Menasha and Fond Du Lac ended in a clean sheet for Waterford.

D - Anika Poling

Poling is a defender and captain for Shoreland Lutheran. She earned a spot after assisting 1 as well as allowing just 1 goal against in the Pacers’ 2 dominant wins this week.

D - Ella McGinnis

The centerback captain of Verona had a monster game against DeForest by scoring 2 headed goals off of corner kicks. Her efforts on defense allowed the Wildcats to allow just 1 goal in their first four games played during the week.

CDM/D - Addie Dobrinska

The freshman defensive midfielder scored an incredible game-winning goal against Franklin in a 1-0 victory. Their defense also allowed Union Grove to finish both games with a shutout to start their season.

M - Kylie Steel

Steel, a junior midfielder for Oregon, 7 seven goals in their opening game against Beaver Dam. Steel was a no-doubt pick for the Best X11 this week and made a great case for our player of the week.

M - Claire Zulewski

The midfielder for Appleton North scored a hattrick against previously ranked Whitefish Bay on Friday night. The Lightning were down 3-1 at the break, but they managed to score 4 unanswered goals to capture a 5-3 victory on the road against the Blue Dukes.

M - Nola Maughan

The junior midfielder for Madison West helped the Regents start their season 3-0. Her 3 goal contributions offensively to go along with 4 assists capped off a dominant week for Maughan and the Regents.

M - Keelan Thomsen

This was Thomsen’s second week playing high school soccer. The freshman from Waukesha West appeared in 3 games while scoring 4 goals and assisting 4 more. The first year Wolverine found herself in the All-Tournament Team from the UW-Whitewater Tournament, helping her secure a spot in our Best X11 this week.

F - Evelyn Myrda

Another forward for Notre Dame Academy, Myrda built on Adamski’s performance last week by following it up with 7 goals and 1 assist. Her efforts offensively have put NDA in the top 10 in our D3 girls soccer rankings.

F - Noelle Rauwolf

Noelle Rauwolf earns our player of the week!

The junior forward for Verona scored 2 goals against previously ranked Sheboygan North and 4 goals with an assist against D1 side Franklin. Rauwolf’s performance helped Verona win first place at the UW-Whitewater tournament and start the season undefeated in their first 4 matches.

F - Naomi Borman

Borman is a sophomore forward for the Madison West Regents. In her first 3 games on varsity, she scored 4 goals while leading the Regent attack which helped them win all 3 matches this week.
