Madison West Secures Spot at State Tournament
#2 seeded Middleton took on #1 Madison West on Saturday at Madison LaFollette High School. This game is a rematch of the same D1 sectional final last season which ended as Middleton advancing after a PK shootout.
Led by captain Liam Cahill, the Regents scored the first two goals of the match. Although, West could have scored more—two clutch goal line saves by Middleton kept the game close until. Cormac Carlson scored a header in front of the net to give the Cardinals hope with ten minutes left. However, Madison West are able to hold on in the end and punch their ticket to the state tournament.
West has the #4 seed and are set to play #1 seed Brookfield East on Thursday morning at 11:00am.
