Week 10 - Sectionals

October 26 - November 1

Colin Yorulmazoglu - Homestead - Goalkeeper

The senior goalkeeper allowed no goals during sectionals. He made some incredible saves to help Homestead secure a 1-0 win over #1 seed West Bend West. The Highlanders will look to continue their run at the state tournament as they take on DeForest on Friday.

Cade Mansfield - Hortonville - Defender

The Polar Bear center back stays in the lineup this week with an even better performance this time around. Mansfield scored 3 goals, including a game-tying goal against Hudson in the 78th minute to send them into overtime. He then scored Hortonville’s first PK in their shootout loss.

Emmett Whitaker - Homestead - Defender/Midfielder

A defender/midfielder from Homestead, Whitaker also played a significant role in Homestead’s run to state as a #6 seed. He was tasked with marking top goalscorers and was able to completely shut down the opposition’s attacks.

Jonah Wallace - Madison West - Defender

Madison West’s defense only allowed one goal all week. Wallace was able to shut down the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year, Wilson Foueppe, in the sectional semifinal. He is a leader of this Regents defense who look to make a statement against Brookfield East in the state tournament.

Charlie Anguil - Marquette - Midfielder

The box-to-box center midfielder helped the Hilltoppers dominate that area of the field. He scored and assisted a goal in the sectional semifinal against Muskego. In the sectional final against Franklin, he scored a goal to help MUHS make yet another tournament appearance.

Liam Cahill - Madison West - Midfielder

Cahill led his team to their sectional final victory over Middleton by scoring a brace; Shifty off-ball movement helped the Regents create a multitude of opportunities against quality defenses. Both goals scored by Cahill were extremely impressive showing why he is one of the best midfielders in the state.

Niall Hagen - Union Grove - Midfielder

The Bronco midfielder left it all on the field in their overtime loss to Whitefish Bay. He scored all 4 goals in that sectional final completing a 5 goal, 2 assist performance during the week.

Aiden Johnson - Brookfield Central - Midfielder/Winger

A sophomore midfielder, Johnson scored all 5 goals for the Lancers as they won their sectional. A strong contender for the player of the week as he elevated the entire team to a state tournament spot.

Victor Cherchian - Madison Country Day Co-op - Forward

Cherchian might be one of the most overlooked attackers in all of D4. He scored 3 goals and assisted 3 for MCDS while upsetting multiple teams during their playoff run. He looks to continue his hot streak on Thursday as they take on Oostburg in the state semifinal.

Chris Urbina - Arcadia - Striker/Winger

The junior striker/winger earns another nomination. He scored 4 goals this week, including a hat-trick which lead to a dominant sectional final victory over Three Lakes/Phelps.

Grayson Ogren - Whitefish Bay - Forward/Striker

The Blue Duke forward continues his excellent run of form as he earns our player of the week! Ogren scored 6 goals and assisted 1, leading Whitefish Bay to 13 total goals this week and a sectional final overtime win over Union Grove. Ogren and company will now have to face a difficult Brookfield Central defense at state. Will they be able to continue this level of offensive production?
